We represent both borrowers and lenders in obtaining and extending capital that is vital to the success of many real estate projects, including portfolio loans from local lenders to more sophisticated loans obtained through commercial mortgage back securities (CMBS) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. We frequently provide legal opinions required by lenders to close on real estate loans.
In addition, we assist with loan workouts related to bank-owned properties and distressed real property secured loans. We work with lenders, investors, tenants, property managers, and receivers to unwind, restructure, refinance, or reclaim property through foreclosure.
Representative matters:
- Represented private equity fund in obtaining CMBS financing to acquire the land and improvements that houses a global chemicals company.
- Negotiated bridge and HUD financing for a nursing and rehabilitation facility in Arizona.
- Negotiated CMBS loan for owner of retail shopping center in California.
- Represent national lender in financing real estate development projects in Oregon.
